Flexibility service providers (FSPs) need to register their energy assets manually or in bulk via CSV on ElectronConnect to participate in markets. These can be either "Discrete" or "Group" assets.
Choose your asset type
First, navigate to the Asset Management page.
Then, select the "Register Assets” tab.
You'll see the option to select the asset type: either a discrete, individual asset or the asset group.
Then you'll see the option to select how to register the asset(s) either manually or as a bulk import via a CSV.
To manually register assets:
Note: Once you've chosen to register either "Discrete" or "Group" asset types, the process to register your assets manually will be the same.
1. Enter your asset information ensuring all required fields marked with an asterix (*) are completed.
2. When you're happy with the information you've provided, select “Submit”.
3. Once the import is complete, you can view your asset(s) under the “Manage Assets” tab.
To register multiple assets via a bulk import:
Note: Once you've chosen to register either "Discrete" or "Group" asset types, the process to register your assets in bulk will be the same.
1. Download the blank, CSV template from the top right of the page and the “Asset bulk registration guide”, which explains the requirements for each column in the CSV file.
2. Fill in the CSV template ensuring all required fields are completed and save the file.
3. Select or drop your completed CSV file into the allocated space in the "Register assets" tab, as in the screenshot above.
4. Confirmation the CSV file is ready to upload will display as below. You can then select “Import assets”.
You will see confirmation that the CSV file has successfully uploaded at the top of the page. Once the import is complete, you can view all of your assets under the “Manage assets” tab.

You may see an error message if the upload was unsuccessful, detailing the row and description of the error.
Follow the guidance in the “Asset bulk registration guide” to correct the errors detailed in the CSV file and re-upload.
