What is performance verification?
When your asset participates in flexibility markets, you are paid for the change in generation or demand compared to what your asset would have done (your baseline) during a service window.
On ElectronConnect, each period where your asset delivers flexibility is called a "Dispatch Event".
After your asset participates, you will need to upload meter readings for that period so the platform can calculate and verify your asset's performance rate. Performance rate is your delivered flexibility volume (MW) divided by your instructed volume (MW).
You will also need to upload the baseline data for your asset for each dispatch period so that your delivered flexibility volume (MW) can be calculated.
Your utilisation payment depends on how your asset performed. Each market operator sets a grace factor percentage - if your performance falls below this threshold, your utilisation payment will be reduced.
You can contact your market operator for specific payment parameters.
How to view your asset's performance in ElectronConnect
Navigate to the Performance Verification page.
In the "Performance Verification" tab, you can view the list of dispatch events where your assets have participated. Events appear here once completed (end date and time are in the past).
The table shows dispatch events from the past 30 days. Click on the table filters to change which dispatch events appear in the table.
For events with "None" as the status, click the "Upload" icon to navigate to the meter readings tab and upload data so your asset's performance can be calculated.
For events with "Incomplete" as the status, click the "View" icon to see which time periods are missing data and upload readings to cover these gaps. If meter reading data is incomplete, you cannot be paid for the entire dispatch event.
Once you've successfully uploaded meter readings, the "Performance" column displays your minimum and maximum performance values for each minute of the dispatch event. The meter reading status is "Complete".
Meter reading status
The meter reading status shows which dispatch events still require meter readings to calculate performance.
Status | Meaning |
Complete | Meter readings successfully uploaded - no further action required |
Incomplete | Meter readings uploaded with missing time periods |
None | Meter readings not uploaded |
